Shamrock Bank honors Durant high school varsity fastpitch softball player Sidney Paris as its August Athlete of the Month.
A junior right-fielder, Sidney finished August hitting .325 with nine runs batted in and six stolen bases for the Lady Lions.
She’s a great kid who brings a ton of energy to our team,” DHS softball coach Cody Little said. ” She has been a spark plug for us all season ever since she broke into the starting lineup.”
“She gives us a ton of options offensively whether bunting, hitting or running and can play multiple positions on defense which makes our team better,” Little said.
Sidney has been playing the sport since she was five years old.
In addition to her softball, Sid is a two-time state qualifier in track. Last spring, she placed fifth at the class 5A state tournament in the 10-meter hurdles competition.
Off the diamond and track, her high school activities include yearbook for two years and varsity cheer one year.
Paris has also given back to the community by volunteering at DARK Animal Rescue and raising money for breast cancer awareness and research.
She hopes to play softball and run track in college and is interested in the Radiology Technology field of study at Oklahoma State University.
Jamie Lynne is her mother, Jode Paris her father and Dax Campbell her stepfather. Sid has two brothers Vincent Potter and Garrett Paris.
Congratulations to Sidney Paris the August selection as the Shamrock Bank Impact Athlete of the Month.
